Alice Joyce née Jordan,
Magherafadda, Ballyheane, Castlebar, Co. Mayo and formerly of Clogher, Breaffy, Castlebar - on 5th February 2025, peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, in her 88th year.
Dearly loved wife of Joseph and dearly loved mother of Christopher (Castlebar) and Valerie (Ballyheane).
Predeceased by her parents Martin and Ellen (née Parkinson) and her brothers Paddy, Willie, John Martin and her sister Bridie.
She will be sadly missed by her heartbroken husband, her son, her daughter, her daughter-in-law Mary and Valerie’s partner Kevin, by her cherished grandchildren Deirdre, Leah, Catherine and Jessica, her Godchild Connie and Connie’s husband Kevin and their children Martin and Jayden, her sister Eileen and her husband Ray (U.K) and her sister Freda (U.K), her nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.
May she rest in peace.
In her younger day Alice worked in Lavelle’s Bakery in Castlebar and later in St. Mary’s Hospital, Castlebar where she was held in high esteem by her work colleagues and all she came in contact with. She loved listening to music and she also enjoyed dancing. Alice was a great animal lover and she took great care of her dogs and her hens. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to the radio and reading the paper. She was very well regarded in the Ballyheane area and she will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Alice will repose at Ballyheane Community Centre on Friday, 7th February from 6.00pm to 7.30pm with removal to St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyheane at 7.40pm.
Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11.30am.
Afterwards Alice will be laid to rest in Ballyheane Cemetery.

Alice was a lady who always had a smile on her face and was great fun.
