Lawrence Reilly,

Maspeth, Queens, New York and formerly of Binghamstown, Belmullet, Co. Mayo - peacefully on 20^th September 2021.

Predeceased by his father Michael and brother Michael Gerard.

Beloved son of Mary (née Kerrigan) and dear brother of Seán (Castlebar), Breda (Piper, Binghamstown, Belmullet), Padraig (Kilkelly) and Anne Marie (Castlebar).

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family – sisters-in-law Marie and Dolores, nieces Alanna and Roisín, nephews Jack, Lorcán, Paidí and Donnacha, his dear best friend David Caffery, aunts, uncles, relatives, many friends in the States of Pennsylvania and New York, neighbours and friends.

May His Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

Mass of Remembrance will take place at St. Sebastian’s Church, 5802 Roosevelt Avenue, New York on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m.

Remains will lay in repose at the Edward D. Lynch Funeral Home, 43-07 Queens Blvd., Sunnyside, New York, 11104 on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Funeral cortege will depart from the Cargo Section of Dublin International Airport on Sunday at 9 a.m.

Remains will lay in repose at his sister Breda's residence, Piper, Binghamstown, Belmullet (Eircode - F26V1F8) on Monday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m.

All attending must enter Piper via the turn opposite St. Joseph’s Church, Binghamstown and exit via Emlybeg South.

A one way system will be in place with traffic stewarts at each junction.

Funeral arriving at St. Brendan’s Church, Tirrane on Tuesday for Funeral Mass at 3 p.m. followed by burial in Emlybeg Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust

Video steaming of Funeral Mass will now be live at 3pm on Tuesday with all other Funeral Services available at 10pm on Tuesday evening.

Memorial Mass for Lawrence will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend the funeral due to the restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence form on this webpage.

I knew Lawrence from NYC. The most generous man imaginable. Dave and Lawrence put a group of us up in his own home for weeks, though he had never met us, only knowing us through friends of friends. He set us up with jobs. Brought us to Chasers to meet local Irish Americans. He brought us to local stores and paid for house appliances for our new home. He drove us to our new apartment with all our luggage. He brought us for BBQ at the weekends. He drove us to the airport when the summer was over. Not once did he ask for anything in return. You couldn't possibly convince him to take anything anyway. Many would have been lost without him.
I am heartbroken with the news. Sincerest sympathies.
