P.J. Kelly,
Garryduff Park, Castlebar and formerly of Spencer Street, Castlebar - unexpectedly but peacefully at his home.
Dearly loved husband of the late Mary (nee Staunton), loving father of Deirdre, Geraldine (Rathfarnham, Dublin), Marie Mullarkey, Gráinne and P.J. (Clonee, Dublin), fond brother of Alicia (Spencer Street, Castlebar), John (Straide) and the late Anne (Farrell), Tommy and Tony.
He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken daughters and son, his treasured grandchildren Sineád, Deirdre, Michael, Amy, Vincent, Eli and Joy, daughter-in-law Courtney, sons-in-law Enda, Paul and Fergus, brother, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
May he rest in peace.
P.J. was in his 80th year and was well known and liked in Castlebar and all over the west of Ireland, having worked for many years as a salesman for the Old Castlebar Bacon Company. He had a passion for cars but his greater love was football and the Gunners (Arsenal) of course. He was extremely interested in new technology and his IPad was never far from his side. But his heart was broken when he lost his soul mate and loving wife Mary, five and a half years ago.
His most precious moments were spent with his adored grandchildren.
Removal will take place at 11 o’clock on Saturday morning, 6th February from the Kilcoyne Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar (via Spencer Street) to the Church of the Holy Rosary for Funeral Mass at 11.30 after which P.J. will be laid to rest beside his beloved Mary in the New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to the Irish Kidney Association c/o Kilcoyne Funeral Directors.
You may view the Funeral Mass on www.castlebarparish.ie or you may listen to it in Castlebar on Castlebar Parish Radio 105.3FM
