Michael Sweeney (better known as Mickey),

Roy, Doohoma, Ballina, Co. Mayo - peacefully at the Mayo/Roscommon Hospice, Castlebar on 17^th April 2021.

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Ellen Sweeney, uncle Michael Joe, brother John Joe and sister in law Monica.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his sister Mary McGuire (Dooriel, Ballycroy) and her husband Tom, nieces Teresa, Bridget, Kathleen, Ellen, Mary (China), Michelle and Bridget Ellen and Michelle, grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandniece, great grandnephew, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral will depart from the Sweeney residence in Roy on Monday afternoon at 12.30 to arrive at St. Pius X Church, Doohoma for Funeral Mass at 1 o’clock followed by burial in Doohoma Cemetery.

In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Mickey’s funeral will be private for family only.  For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the villages and enroute to the church and cemetery, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the footpaths, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard. The Sweeney family appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.

Memorial Mass for the soul of Mickey will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend due to restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence form on this webpage.
