John O’Brien,
Springfield Court, Moneen, Castlebar and formerly of Ballysaggart, Lismore, Co. Waterford and London (on 12th January 2022) – peacefully at Galway University Hospital.
Predeceased by his parents Eugene and Mary O'Brien and his brother Michael.
Dearly loved husband of Bridget (nee Togher), formerly of Lurgacloy, Belmullet and loving father of John (UK), Linda (UK), Mark (UK) and Barry (Galway).
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, daughter, sons, his brothers Eugene (Ballysaggart), James( Ballysaggart), Edward (Dagenham, Essex, UK), his sisters Bridget Kimmins and Mary Shea (Boston), his adored grandchildren Jake, John, Lauren, Chloe and Ciara, his daughters-in-law Dolores and Lisa, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.
May he rest in peace.
Aged 78 John worked in London Transport, the ESB Waterford and in more recent years in Supervalu, Castlebar where he was well respected and popular. John loved all sport and he was a great supporter of his native Waterford Hurling Team and the Mayo Senior Football Team.
Reposing at Kilcoynes Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Saturday evening, January 15th from 6 o’clock until 7.30.
Arriving to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar on Sunday, January 16th for Funeral Mass at 1.30.
John will be laid to rest in the New Cemetery.
