Rev. Fr. PJ Nyland,

Salesian order of Don Bosco, Crumlin, Co. Dublin and formerly of Springhill, Ballyvary, Co. Mayo - suddenly at the Beacon Hospital, Dublin.

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Mary.

Deeply regretted by his heartbroken family, brothers Tom and Gerard (Ballyvary), sisters Mary (Castlebar), Teresa (Dublin) and Agnes (Castlebar), brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and partners, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandniece, cousins, relatives and many many friends.

Also greatly missed by his Brothers and Sisters in Christ in the Salesian Community.

We know he is now rejoicing with Jesus Christ.

Departing Salesian House, Crumlin on Friday after blessings and prayers at 1.30pm via Ratoath Co. Meath to Springhill, Ballyvary.

Reposing at Springhill (Eircode F23VW71) from 3pm on Saturday.

Removal from Springhill on Sunday at 12.30pm to St. Josephs Church, Keelogues for Requiem Mass at 1pm.

Funeral afterwards to Straide Cemetery.

Funeral will adhere to HSE Covid guidelines.

For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through Ballyvary and en route to the church, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the streets, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard.

P J was studying for the priesthood when I was a boarder in Ballinakill. He was very kind to me because my mother came from Kealogues and also because I was a Mayo man. He has relatives connected to some Killasser people and he attended some of their funerals here in Killasser. He was a real gentle gentleman and we often spoke about the Mayo team. What a lovely priest and person her was. A true son of Don Bosco and a true son of Mayo. May he enjoy the light of heaven and may he rest in peace.
