Joe is a legend. A man of outstanding ability, intelligence and humanity.
May he rest in peace.
He was a proud Mayo man and a wonderful Christian.
May his kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace .
May you take comfort and cherish your lovely memories of a wonderful man.
May God bless you all
Joe’s parents, Patrick and Catherine Kennedy, were kind and generous souls. They introduced my own parents. They were good company in difficult times. Their friendship to my parents provided a foundational example of the possibility of goodness in people and this world.
To his credit, Joe captured the generous spirit of his parents, and shared it kindly through his business, philanthropic, faith and family efforts. I am perhaps most appreciative of the family dynamic that maintained extended relationships over decades and distance. Fond memories rise from gatherings at Aunt Winnie’s in Elmhurst, and later at Brendan’s Bar in Manhattan.
My sincerest condolences to Joe’s wife Kathleen and family. May we each follow Joe’s example and make the world a better place in our turn.
The Duffy and Kennedy children were close because their parents were close. Those experiences together continued as both families made efforts to permanently return home to Ireland. The Kennedys were able to settle in Doocastle. A world war and an ocean interfered with the Duffys’ plans, separating my brother and I from our parents for three years. Yet the same circumstance gave us three years with our grandparents and extended our childhood memories with the Kennedys. Evelyn and I became like sisters to one another. The Kennedy and Duffy children played and grew together, while world events lumbered on.
My prayers go out to you all. May he RIP xxx
We will surely miss our "Moonlight in Mayo".May Joe's gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Lasting and pleasant memories of him in Ireland and on a historic trip to the United States in 2017.

Enniscrone has been his second home for more than 50 years. He integrated himself very much in local community affairs and was so generous with his time and support for individual, community and church needs in Enniscrone.
Joe was truly a great man, highly respected, so successful, yet so humble. He was a man of vision which he was prepared to share with those he encountered.

Joe never shouted about what he did quietly behind the scenes as it wasn’t his style.
He was a true gentleman both inside and out and Jeff and I were privileged to have known him for what seems a relatively short time.
The world has lost a great man but heaven will be richer for a blessed angel.
May his gentle and kind soul rest in eternal peace.
Our hearts go out to you now as you try & navigate life without your much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother & uncle. Love & prayers for you all,
