Johnny McGovern,
The Quay, Newport - peacefully at his residence on October 11th.
Predeceased by his wife Patricia, sons Desmond and John.
Deeply regretted by his wife Maureen, his sons Paddy (Castlebar), Sean (Galway), daughters Patricia (Westport), Sharon (Newport), Cathy (Aughagower), brother Mick (Rossanrubble), sister Mary (Rossanrubble), Pat (USA), his eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Rest in peace.
Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 12 o'clock in St. Patrick's Church, Newport followed by burial in Burrishoole Cemetery.
Due to HSE and Government guidelines, the funeral at all stages will be private for family and close friends.
Mass will be live-streamed on the Burrishoole Parish Facebook page.
The family would like to thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation at this difficult time.

So saddened to hear of Jonny's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Jonny for years. A pure genius, a gentleman and a friend. Back in the mid sixtys Johnny played a key role in the launch of Newport festival which went from success to success each year. Take a rest Jonny, you deserve it. R.I.P
