Michael J. Ruddy,

Virginia, U.S.A. and formerly of Alt, Bunnahowen, Belmullet, Co. Mayo - peacefully at his residence on 2nd April 2021.

Predeceased by his stepdaughter Kim, parents Martin and Bridget Ruddy (Alt), sisters Mary Ruddy (Shraigh) and Baby Bridget Agnes and brothers John and Martin Ruddy.

He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Janet and stepchildren Wendy, Jill and Jeff, sisters Nancy Ivers (New York) and Kathleen Carolan (New York), brothers Gus (Belmullet), Pat (Alt), Tom (Manchester) and Jim (Alt), brother in law Michael Carolan (New York), sisters in law Rita Ruddy (Belmullet) and Kathleen Ruddy (Alt), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Funeral will depart from McDonnells Funeral Home, Belmullet on Monday afternoon at 12.30 with funeral travelling via Attycunnane, Derrynameel and Alt enroute to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Glencastle, arriving for Funeral Mass at 1 o’clock.

Following Funeral Mass, internment of ashes will take place at the family plot at Glencastle Old Cemetery.

Live streaming of the Funeral Mass will be available for viewing at 1 o’clock on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page, with all other funeral services available for viewing at 8 o’clock on Monday evening.

In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Michael J. Ruddy’s funeral will be private for family and close friends only with a maximum of fifty people in attendance at the Funeral Mass.

For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the town and enroute to the church and to the cemetery on Monday afternoon, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the streets, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery, ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard.
