Galway and Aughadeffin, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo February 28th, 2021 - Peacefully at Mayo University Hospital after a short illness.
Pre-deceased by his father Seamus.
Sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Angela (née Egan), mother Bernadette, brothers Michael, Donal and Shane, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunt Nellie, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Des will be removed from The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen on Tuesday at 10.30am to St. Joseph’s Church, Urlaur arriving for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.30am, followed by cremation in Lakelands crematorium, Cavan.. However, in line with Government and H.S.E advice regarding public gatherings, a small private funeral will be held. The Gallagher and Egan families would ask that over the coming days, everyone who knew him would take some time to light a candle or say a prayer in his memory.
For those who would have liked to attend the Mass but cannot due to the current restrictions, Des’s Mass will be streamed on Sharkey Funeral Directors Facebook page
