John Loftus (Seán Ó Lochnáin),

Hawthorn Avenue, Golf Course Road, Castlebar and formerly of Lakelands, Manulla - suddenly at his residence - Ex Town Clerk of Westport, Cavan, Trim, Castlebar and late of Mayo County Council.

Predeceased by his sister Frances.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary (nee Gillespie, Knockmore), sons John (Bahrain), David (Dublin) & Darragh (Dublin), daughter Jennifer (Galway), brothers Michael, Willie, Brendan, Noel & Christopher, Sisters Bridie, Tracey, Kathleen, Marie & Annette, grandchildren Méadhbh and Donnacha, son in law Patrick, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Removal from his residence on Friday at 12.15 to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar via Spencer Street for Requiem Mass at 1 o’clock with funeral afterwards to Castlebar New Cemetery.

Due to the HSE and Government guidelines the funeral at all stages will be private for family only.

It was with much sadness we learned of the sudden passing of John. He was imbued with a lovely nature and a great sense of compassion and outreach. He enjoyed huge respect among his colleagues in all places that he served in during his years in the public service. He had a great and enduring fondness for the GAA and sport and I know he also was very loyal to his favourite shows on Midwest Radio. John was "old stock" with a great love of place and community.
