Martin Gibbons,

Fr. Mulhern Crescent, Belmullet and formerly of Ballyglass, Belmullet and Loughta, Louisburgh, Co. Mayo - peacefully at his residence on 5^th May 2021.

Predeceased by his brothers Mickey and Paddy and his nephew Michael.

He is sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Florence, his sisters Margaret Keaney (Dublin) and Frances Lynch (Dublin), nephews, brother in law Michael Lynskey, sisters in law Carol and family, Mary, Tony and family, Breege and family, Sheila, Eamon and family, Peggy, Patrick and family, Teresa and family, Evelyn, Peter and family, his cherished friend Malachy Gaughan (Leeds), relatives, wonderful neighbours and many friends.

Removal from his residence on Friday evening at 7 o’clock with funeral arriving at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Belmullet at 7.30.

Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon followed by burial in Cross Cemetery.

The funeral will travel via the Lynskey residence (Ballymacsheeran, Binghamstown) en-route to Cross Cemetery.

Live streaming of the Funeral Mass will be available for viewing at 12 noon on McDonnell Funeral Directors Facebook page, with all other funeral services available for viewing at 8 o’clock on Saturday evening.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to “Cara Iorrais” or the “Irish Coast Guard R117” c/o McDonnell Funeral Directors, Belmullet.

In keeping with current Government advice and H.S.E. guidelines regarding public gatherings, Martin’s funeral will be private for family and close friends only. For those who would like to pay their respects as the funeral cortege passes through the town and enroute to the church on Friday evening and to the cemetery on Saturday afternoon, please stand in a socially distanced manner on the streets, roadsides, outside the church and cemetery, ensuring public health and safety is being upheld to the highest standard. The Gibbons/Lynskey families appreciate your understanding at this difficult time.

Memorial Mass for Martin will be held at a later date. For those who cannot attend the funeral due to the restrictions, please leave a personal message for the family on the condolence form on this webpage.
