Bernadette Hallinan O’Callaghan (better known as Bernie),

Tawnylaheen, Clydagh, Pontoon Road, Castlebar and formerly of Borehallagh, Foxford – peacefully at Mayo University Hospital.

Dearly loved wife of Vincent (Vinny) and adored mother of Rebecca and Saran; much loved sister of Mary O'Hora, Ann Donnellan, Letitia Hallinan, Joan Ruane, Margaret Sheerin, Emma Ryan, Frances Doherty and Sandra Hallinan.

She will be greatly missed by her heartbroken husband, daughter, son, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, work colleagues and many friends.

May her soul rest in peace.

Bernie worked in the Department of Social Protection in Michael Davitt House, Castlebar. She had previously worked in Community Services, St. Mary's Hospital, Castlebar and prior to this she worked in London.

Bernie will repose at the Kilcoyne Funeral Home, Thomas Street, Castlebar on Friday morning from 9.30am.

Removal at 10.45am to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar arriving for Funeral Mass at 11.30am.

Afterwards Bernie will be laid to rest in the New Cemetery, Newport Road, Castlebar.

It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing of my former colleague Bernice taken too soon from this life. I first knew Bernice when she worked as a Typist in Mayo General hospital known then as The County Hospital in the Wester Health Board. Armed with great typing skills she left to work in England. She later rejoined the HSE where she worked in St Mary's and ended her career in Davitt House. She was intelligent, fun loving and loved the craic and I will remember her with great memories in thr 80s working in the WHB.
