Roderick O’Connor (better known as Rod),
50 Riverdale Court, Knockthomas, Castlebar and formerly of Captains Road, Kimmage, Dublin – peacefully at Mayo University Hospital.
Dearly loved husband of Chrissie nee Griffin and loving father of Darren, Andrea, Jonathan and Paul.
He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Chrissie, sons, daughter, brother Tom, sisters Jacqueline and Deirdre, son-in-law Mark, daughters-in-law Shauna, Tracey and Dawn, grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
He was predeceased by his brother Joe.
Rod was involved in many local organisations including Riverdale Court/Knockthomas Drive Residents Association, Neighbourhood Watch and he was a founder member of the Castlebar Mens Shed. He was a tireless community worker. Rod was a noted craftsman and worked on many major construction projects accross the country.

Removal from his home in Castlebar on Friday morning at 11.15 to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with the funeral proceeding to Shannon Crematorium arriving at 3.30 for Committal Service.
Mass can be viewed on www.castlebarparish.ie or listened to on 105.3fm in Castlebar.
