May Peter Rest In Peace.
I was very saddened to hear that Peter has died. I spent many a long night playing tunes and having the craic with him in Dublin in the late 90s and early 2000s. I loved playing with Peter. He was a fabulous accordion player. At his peak, I think that he was one of the best that I ever played with - and I have played with many fine players. He had a unique Mayo style. He was also the best of company and I treasure the fun that we had. We had many chats about Cork football and Mayo football between the tunes. The picture on the obituary was how I remember playing with him. In fact, there is a good chance that I was at that session in the Cobblestones where that photo was taken! When he moved from Dublin, I lost touch with Peter. If there is a God, he will not be short of stories and great music in the next while.

The last time I saw Peter was many years ago in summertime at Matt Molloys pub in Westport, where he was playing in a session. He was a fantastic accordion player and it was a great thrill to see a Townagh lad playing with the best musicians in the country. As well as his talent I remember Peter as being quick, funny, decent, and full of stories. May he rest in peace.
Heard him play many times

We were honoured to hear Peter play at our sessions here in Coventry, although it was a few years ago he is still fondly remembered.
