Cill Chomain GAA will be unable to fulfill this evening's Mayo LGFA Championship meeting with MacHale Rovers as a direct result of Covid-19.
The club had requested the game be rearranged for a different date but they claim that MacHale Rovers & the Mayo LGFA Fixtures committee were not willing to accommodate.
In a statement to Midwest Sport they say: “Covid-19 is still a major concern and we have a number of players affected.
If we had 16 players available we would play the game.
We see no reason why this game couldn't be re-fixed as this weekend was up until two weeks ago down as a free weekend in the calendar.
We are extremely disappointed that a compromise could not be reached.
We look forward to playing in round 2 of the Championship.”
