Both Galway United and Sligo Rovers are out of the race for European football after a draw last night at Eamonn Deacy Park.
Rovers took a 1-0 lead into half time thanks to a goal from Luke Pearce, with the equaliser coming just before the hour mark from Jimmy Keohane.
Simon Power put John Russell’s side ahead once again on 61 minutes, and a leveler from Stephen Walsh seven minutes from time shared the spoils.
The result rids both clubs of their European hopes with one game left in the league season.
Elsewhere, Damien Duff’s Shelbourne are one step closer to a first title in 18 years with a 1-0 win over Drogheda.
Shels now hold a four point lead at the summit and only defending champions Shamrock Rovers remain with them in the hunt for the title.
Derry City’s chances of winning the league were ended by a 1-0 loss to St Pat’s at Richmond Park where Brandon Kavanagh scored against his former team as Pats made it eight straight wins.
Waterford and Bohemians drew 1-1 at the RSC.
