The daughter of a Mayo woman has been called up to the Republic of Ireland women's squad for the upcoming Nations League fixture with Turkey.
Charlton Athletic midfielder Melisa Filis has received her inaugural call-up as the team prepares to face Turkey in the UEFA Nations League at Tallaght Stadium on Friday, February 21.
Filis, who came through the ranks at Arsenal but no plys her trade in the second tier of the game in England with the Addicks.
Born in Luton, Filis qualifies to represent Ireland through her Knock-born mother.
