Mayo playing division 2 football this year will be a welcomed boost for the younger players making the step up to the senior grade.
That’s the view of former Mayo manager John O’Mahony who says there is a danger with only three games in the group that it will be tricky to emerge through to the semi-finals.
However, he does feel Mayo should have enough to come through and build up some momentum heading to the Connacht Championship.
O’Mahony who led Galway to two All-Ireland titles joined Michael D McAndrew on Sunday Sport this afternoon.
