25 clubs will participate in Lidl Ireland’s new One Good Club mental health awareness programme from Monday.
The initiative is a five-step youth mental health awareness programme for local clubs, developed in partnership with the LGFA and Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health.
Details of the project were revealed at the 2020 Lidl National Football League launch – with participating clubs chosen from over 900 nominations by local communities.
The start date was delayed due to Covid-19 - but it’s now all systems go for Annaghdown in Galway, St Marys in Leitrim, St Nathy's in Sligo and Swinford Killasser in Mayo.
It is championed by four One Good Club Ambassadors, including Galway’s Nicola Ward, 2019 All-Star award winner.

Former Roscommon footballer and Swinford Killasser LGFA Club Chairperson, Regina Mullaney and the LGFA's National Development Manager Lyn Savage joined John Morley on Sunday Sport to talk about the mental health programme, development of young female footballers during the pandemic, the 20x20 campaign and much more.
