Claremorris Darts have expressed their sympathy to the family of Michael Morrin who has sadly passed away.
The sad news descended around South Mayo yesterday that a legend from the sport of darts in Mayo had passed away
Those lucky enough to have played with or against Mick Morrin, or those who just had the pleasure of watching him play will no doubt have great memories of a man widely respected throughout the county.
In a social media post, Claremorris Darts say Mick was a very unassuming type of guy, a real gentleman is the best way to describe him.
He played all around the county and won practically every singles event there was to be won.
Mick achieved the 9 dart finish in Lanesborough many years back, finishing 144 on Treble 18, Treble 18, Double 18, but when asked about it, he would casually reply, 'ah it was just a practice game before the competition'.
Sincere condolences to the Morrin Family & to all of Mick's neighbours & friends
