Galway have received a double boost ahead of Saturday's Connacht SFC semi-final against Sligo with captain Shane Walsh fit to lead the side and former All-Star Ian Burke recovering from a leg injury.
Walsh came on as a substitute in that Allianz League loss to the Dublin after recovering from ankle and knee injuries picked up on club duty with Kilkerrin-Clonberne.
Galway selector John Concannon told the Irish Independent that Walsh was still building up his fitness after the double injury setback but should be fine for championship duty.
However, Galway will have to plan without the services of Damien Comer who is out with a hamstring injury and is set to miss his second Connacht Championship in a row.
