Tributes have been paid to the Chairman of the East Mayo GAA Board, Ciaran Byrne, who passed away suddenly this week.
Mr Byrne also served as a coach and referee in Mayo for many years.
Mayo GAA has extended their deepest sympathies to Ciaran's family, friends and neighbours.
Ciaran was a long time member of Eastern Gaels GAA Club and managed the team to win the East Mayo Junior A Championship in 1989. He was also a teacher and coach at Roscommon CBS.
Ciaran's remains will repose at his residence in Ballyroe, Knock today from 3-8pm. He will be laid to rest on Saturday in Knock Cemetery following Funeral Mass in the Basilica of Our Lady Knock at 12 noon.
