The President has returned home after being discharged from hospital today.


Michael D Higgins was admitted after experiencing a "mild transient weakness" last Thursday evening.


He continued his work from St. James's Hospital, signing two pieces of legislation during the week.


The President says Ireland is lucky to have such "wonderful, dedicated and caring" medical staff.
