Eight restaurants and food businesses were issued with Closure Orders last month.
Half were in Dublin, with the others in Waterford, Sligo, Tipperary and Meath.
A pub in Tipperary and two retailers in the capital were issued with Prohibition Orders in January, also for breaches of food safety laws.
Some of the reasons given by the Food Safety Authority were cockroach infestations, raw fish being vacuum packed in the same machine as ready-to-eat foods, and mould growth.
