A local undertaker has confirmed this morning that a cremation service should be fully operational by the end of this month.
Speaking this morning on the Tommy Marren show, Ballina based undertaker David McGowan said the plan is to have the Foley and McGowan crematorium running by months end.
The idea was first mooted in 2023, as there is currently no cremation facility in Connacht.
David McGowan told Midwest Radio's Rian Bailey that once operational, it may be able to help speed up the process in those who pass away in the UK and wish to be brought back to Ireland for their funeral.....
