
Following today’s monthly meeting of Mayo County Council the following motion has been unanimously carried regarding the housing of refugees and International Protection Applicants in the county.
All co-operations will cease immediately between the staff of Mayo County Council and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth of Ireland.
This will last until such time as an agreed strategy is put in place to properly co-ordinate the provision of additional services for the communities hosting refugees and International Protection Applicants.
Services are the include medical, policing, accommodation, housing, education, transport and training among others and that delivery dates are set down for the roll out of these services.
