
More than 13,500 people were in emergency accommodation in November, including over 4,100 children.
Both totals are new records for the Department of Housing.
The total is 17 percent higher than the figure for November 2022.
The number of adults accessing emergency accommodation in Mayo has remained unchanged in the Department of Housing’s latest Homeless Report.
The most recent report shows figures from November of last year, and the Mayo total remains the same at 87.
Galway and Roscommon are both on the up, with Galway going from 261 to 273 and Roscommon going from 12 to 14.
As for the other Connacht counties, Sligo has increased from 62 to 67 and Leitrim from 12 to 15.
The number of families in emergency accommodation in the West (Mayo, Galway and Roscommon) has decreased from 108 to 105, while the number of dependants here has also decreased from 220 to 209.
As for the North West, the figures have increased, with families going from 13 to 15 and dependants from 29 to 33.
