
The funeral mass is taking place today, of an elderly woman who died in a crash on New Year's Eve.
Helen Horan will be laid to rest in St Joseph's Church in Boyle, County Roscommon at 12pm.
Tributes are being paid ahead of the Mass of Christian burial today of Helen Horan.
Mrs Horan, from Kevinsfort, Sligo Town, Co Sligo was killed in a road collision on New Years eve and will be laid to rest in St.Joseph's Church, Boyle co Roscommon at 12pm.
The driver of the second car, a man in his 30s was taken by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital. His injuries are understood to be serious.
Locals said that Mrs Horan was a lovely lady who had been widowed for a number of years. She was originally from Boyle in County Roscommon and it's believed that she was visiting relatives in her hometown of Boyle when the crash occurred.
Mrs Horan was one of 14 people killed on the roads during the Garda Christmas road safety enforcement campaign.
Gardai are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
