The North West Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Ballina is offering a €1,000 reward for information on the identity of the person responsible for setting a dog on fire in the county earlier this month.
Chairperson of the organisation Cathy O’Hora told RTÉ’s Morning Ireland that she is “horrified” and “extremely upset” by what has happened.
A €1,000 reward has been put up as the group are determined to find out who is responsible for this act, despite not being able to afford the reward.
The dog was described as a mixed breed and small to medium in size.
The incident took place on July 6 and the dog died from its injuries.
