Condolences are being sent to Ronan Keating's family following the death of his older brother Ciaran in a road crash over the weekend.

Mr. Keating who lived in Westport in Mayo was driving with his wife to Sligo to watch their son play a football game for Cork City on Saturday afternoon.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Mayo University Hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries.

The collision happened at a black spot on the N5 at Ballymiles outside Swinford.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
