Independent councillor Seamus Weir is the newly elected Cathaoirleach of Ballina Municipal District.

He was elected at today's AGM of the district.

Seamus is at present the Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, however, his term as county Cathaoirleach will be up next week, when the AGM of Mayo County Council is due to take place.

Fianna Fail councillor Annie Mae Reape is the newly elected Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Ballina District.
