Galway County Council has confirmed that an extra general operative/ member of outdoor staff has been appointed to the Headford area of Tuam Municipal District.
Local Fianna Fail councillor Mary Hoade has welcomed the appointment, saying she had raised her concern regarding the reduction in the numbers of outdoor staff in the area, with council management.
Councillor Hoade told Midwest News today that the reduction in outdoor staff has a significant effect on the starting and completion of works in the area, and added that there is a need for more staff to be appointed in this large geographical area.
