Details

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Castlebar yesterday.

The collision between a car and a cyclist occurred at approximately 12:15 yesterday on the N84 at Ballyheane.

A man in his 70's was taken to Mayo University Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of this incident.

The road which was closed for a time has since reopened to traffic.

Gardai in Castlebar are appealing for witnesses of the collision to come forward, particularly anyone with dash cam footage is being asked to make it available to investigating Gardai.

Anyone with any information is being asked to contact Castlebar Garda Station on 094 90 38200.
