
Half of all retained firefighters are continuing to strike for a second day.
Ballina, Ballyhaunis, Castlebar, Crossmolina and Swinford all took their first day of strike yesterday, while Ballinrobe, Charlestown, Claremorris, Kiltimagh and Westport all begin their action today.
If a resolution to concerns over pay and conditions isn’t found by next Tuesday, all retained fire stations will close.
