A Galway deputy has called for support from all Oireachtas members on a Bill that is due before the Dail this summer.
The Industrial Relations Provisions in Respect of Pension Entitlements for Retired Workers Bill came before cabinet last year but was deferred to allow for a consultation process.
Independent TD Sean Canney says it's important this bill is passed as it allows retired workers have a voice and a right over what happens to their occupational pension.
He says the bill itself won't cost the government money and there is no reason it shouldn't be passed.
