
The Irish Natura & Hill Farmers Association are demanding that new veterinary schools prioritize the development of vets for large farm animal practice.
There are currently developments being made into a new Veterinary School by Ministers Simon Harris and Charlie McConalogue.
INHFA President Vincent Roddy has welcomed the decision to create a new school, with so many young Irish veterinary students having to study elsewhere in places such as Poland.
The INHFA are proposing that the CAO and Leaving Cert points system for the course would be lower, and to work with the Agricultural Colleges in order to get more vets for all parts of Ireland.
