
A Sligo/Leitrim TD has called for an end to Dáil constituencies being split along multiple counties.
A boundary commission will redraw the constituencies this year, adding as many as 19 extra TDs to represent the increased population in Ireland.
At present a section of south Mayo remains in the Galway West constituency, while parts of county Leitrim are not in the Sligo/Leirtrim electoral area.
