
A new phone app has been launched to assist tourists to explore the wonders of Achill Island.
The “Explore Achill App” was launched last night at the AGM of Achill Tourism and is supported by Mayo Tourism and partnered with the First Choice Credit Union.
Tourist numbers on Achill so far this year are already on the rise, and it’s hoped that on the back of the success of the film The Banshees of Inisherin, and now the “Biden boost” to Mayo last week, that the trend will continue.
Chris McCarthy is the Manager of Achill Tourism and he says coffee/ tea sellers on the island have been reporting business in February this year, equivalent to a normal May.
