The heartbroken father of the 14 year old boy killed in Easter Monday’s crash in County Galway has issued an appeal to teenagers not to go out in cars and put their lives at risk.
Lukas Joyce and Kirsty Bohan were two young Headford students who tragically lost their lives in the early hours of Monday morning, April 10.
Today’s Irish Times reports that Joe Joyce, father of Lukas, appealed to young people not to think they are invincible and asked them to think of their parents before they took risks.
In a deeply emotional speech that lasted over half an hour at St Brendan’s Church in Annaghdown on Saturday, Mr Joyce said he couldn’t believe his son was gone.
Two other pupils of Presentation College Headford, who were also in the accident, are being treated for their injuries in hospital.
