
The rate of cocaine use has significantly increased among young women, according to the HSE's clinical lead for addiction services.
Speaking at the First Citizen's Assembly on drugs, Professor Eamon Keenan, said the number of people seeking treatment for cocaine use has tripled in the last six years.
According to the Irish Times, Professor Keenan said its use is increasing across all age groups, with crack cocaine emerging as a problem in disadvantaged areas.
