The Saolta Hospital Group has paid out some €324 million in compensation to patients who suffered adverse incidents or medical negligence in hospitals in the west and north-west, since 2013.
The hospital group runs Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Letterkenny, Galway, Merlin Park and Portiuncula University Hospitals
The data has been released to Aontú representative in Tuam, Luke Silke
Last year (2022) is the year where the highest amount was paid out - €76 million in compensation and this was also the highest amount paid out in compensation by any hospital group in the country last year.
