Pinergy has announced the first drop in energy prices since 2020.

The pay-as-you-go provider is reducing it's standard unit rate by 9 percent from March - meaning customers will save an average of 183 euro a year.

It's set to impact around 27 thousand customers.

CEO of price comparison website Bonkers dot ie, David Kerr, says it's hoped this decrease will see other providers follow suit....
