A Galway East TD has called on the Government to reintroduce the mortgage interest relief scheme to help homeowners who are struggling.
Independent Deputy Sean Canney says at a time when the cost of living is soaring and mortgage interest rates are increasing, many people are finding themselves struggling to keep afloat.
He says the scheme should be reintroduced on a temporary basis for now but the Government have concerns about how much it would cost the state to do so.
