Details

7 additional deaths related to Covid-19 were confirmed yesterday, along with 400 new cases.

There were 21 new cases of the virus in Galway, 6 in Mayo, less than 5 cases in both counties Roscommon and Leitrim and no new cases in Sligo.

The reproductive number of Covid-19 is now estimated to be close to 1 after weeks of steady rise.

Professor Phillip Nolan, who is chair of the state's modelling group says it's a very positive improvement.
