
The price of an average second-hand 3-bed semi-detached house in Co Mayo is risen by 0.6% in the last 3 months, according to a new survey from Real Estate Alliance.
It survey shows Mayo house prices have risen by 8% over the past year, and currently average €166,000.
According to the latest report, average house prices in Westport stayed steady at €245,000 during the first quarter of this year, while Castlebar prices rose 0.6% to €166,000.
With multiple bidders on all properties, asking prices are being exceeded, according to Robert McGreal of REA McGreal Burke.
He says that, despite the Covid-19 lockdown, virtual tours and the use of technology has helped property sales to progress.
Nationally, average house prices rose by almost 2% over the past 3 months to €243,600, with the average 3-bed semi reaching sale agreed after just 5 weeks on the market - almost half the average selling time a year ago.
