Irish band Fontaines D.C. missed out on a prize at the Grammys last night.

They were nominated for the Best Rock Album award for 'A Hero's Death' but it went to The Strokes.

Two Castlebar men form part of the five-member group, whose debut album was voted one of the best albums of 2019.

Drummer Tom Coll, from Crimlin and bass guitarist Conor Deegan are integral members of the band that met at music college in Dublin at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute.

Beyonce won three awards at the virtual ceremony - making history by becoming the most decorated female artist in the history of the awards.
