€9.2 million in government funding has been announced today for Roscommon Town.
The funding is part of an €83 million investment for seven regeneration projects in the Western region of Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
Roscommon based Fianna Fail Senator Eugene Murphy says it’s a huge injection of funding for the town and will have a very far-reaching impact on the quality of life and sustainability of local communities.
The project in Roscommon Town entitled Roscommon Town Centre-Putting the Spokes back into the Hub, is a public realm, social and green infrastructure project aimed at strategically reimaging and developing Roscommon Town.
It aims to maximise it as a vibrant town where people will want to live.
