A man in his 30s has died in a road collision in Co Roscommon.
His car collided with a lorry at about 9.30 this morning on the N5 at Cloonfree near Strokestown.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Midwest News understands the deceased man is not from the local area.
His body was removed to Roscommon mortuary and then onto UHG for a post mortem examination.
The lorry driver, a man in his late 40s, did not sustain serious injuries in the crash.
The N5 road remains closed this evening between Strokestown and Tulsk with local diversions in place.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to contact them in Strokestown at 071 - 96 33002.
