One week on from the announcement that Bank of Ireland is to close three branches in Co Mayo, Deputy Rose-Conway Walsh and her Sinn Fein colleague Councillor Gerry Murray are hosting an online public meeting this evening, calling for the Bank of Ireland branches to remain open in Ballyhaunis, Charlestown and Kiltimagh.
Deputy Conway-Walsh says keeping these branches open is crucial for the local communities, and she believes the Bank of Ireland- which was bailed out by the Irish people - should not be closing local branches during a pandemic.
Anyone with an interest in banking services in Mayo who would like to take part in this evening's online public meeting at 8pm can register in advance by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
